Fighting for Routes: Resource Allocation among Competing Planners in Transportation Networks

چکیده
In transportation networks, incomplete information is ubiquitous, and users often delegate their route choice to distributed planners. To model study these systems, we introduce network control games, consisting of multiple actors seeking optimise the social welfare assigned subpopulations through resource allocation in an underlying nonatomic congestion game. We first analyse inefficiency routing equilibria by calculating Price Anarchy for polynomial cost functions, then, using Asynchronous Advantage Actor–Critic algorithm implementation, show that reinforcement learning agents are vulnerable choosing suboptimal as predicted theory. Finally, extend analysis allow vehicles choose planner associated equilibria. Our results can be applied mitigate issues arising large transport networks with controlled autonomous vehicles.

Bicriteria Resource Allocation Problem in Pert Networks
We develop a bicriteria model for the resource allocation problem in PERT networks, in which the total direct costs of the project as the first objective, and the mean of project completion time as the second objective are minimized. The activity durations are assumed to be independent random variables with either exponential or Erlang distributions, in which the mean of each activity duration ...
متن کاملOptimal Resource Allocation in Random Networks with Transportation Bandwidths
We apply statistical physics to study the task of resource allocation in random sparse networks with limited bandwidths for the transportation of resources along the links. Recursive relations from the Bethe approximation are converted into useful algorithms. Bottlenecks emerge when the bandwidths are small, causing an increase in the fraction of idle links. For a given total bandwidth per node...
متن کاملCompeting Allocation Rules in Networks∗
I examine a model in which two competing groups offer different allocation rules that may depend on the network of connections among the individuals that make up each group. I assume the existence of a single divisible good, such as a monetary prize, to be divided by each group. The probability of winning the prize will depend on the group sizes, but I examine a more general contest function as...
متن کاملParallel computation framework for optimizing trailer routes in bulk transportation
We consider a rich tanker trailer routing problem with stochastic transit times for chemicals and liquid bulk orders. A typical route of the tanker trailer comprises of sourcing a cleaned and prepped trailer from a pre-wash location, pickup and delivery of chemical orders, cleaning the tanker trailer at a post-wash location after order delivery and prepping for the next order. Unlike traditiona...
متن کاملA Multi Objective Fibonacci Search Based Algorithm for Resource Allocation in PERT Networks
The problem we investigate deals with the optimal assignment of resources to the activities of a stochastic project network. We seek to minimize the expected cost of the project include sum of resource utilization costs and lateness costs. We assume that the work content required by the activities follows an exponential distribution. The decision variables of the model are the allocated resourc...
